[Updated] Fort Worth police shoot and kill resident inside house

The Fort Worth Police Department responded to an “open structure” call at 2:23AM in the 1200 block of E. Allen Ave. A caller stated the front door of a residence was open, and asked police to check on the situation.
When officers arrived on the scene, they established a perimeter around the house. They observed a person standing inside the house near a window. One of the officers “perceived a threat” and shot at the person, striking her.
Officers rendered medical aid, but she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police say the deceased female lived at the residence. A weapon was recovered from inside the house.
The age and identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
