UPDATE: Intoxicated driver causes four-car crash that critically injured two people in Parker County
DPS Troopers have released additional information regarding the major accident posted last night along westbound I-20 in the Aledo area.
Parker County Engine 34, Willow Park FD, LifeCare EMS, and multiple law enforcement all responded to the scene at around 10:30PM. Four vehicles and multiple people were involved in the crash.
According to DPS, an intoxicated driver operating a Ford pickup truck was traveling along westbound I-20 and failed to control his speed when entering a construction zone. He collided with the rear of a passenger vehicle which then caused a chain reaction crash involving two other vehicles. A total of four vehicles were involved in the crash.
Two occupants, identified as a 61-year-old female and 23-year-old male, in the passenger vehicle hit by the intoxicated driver were transported by LifeCare EMS to JPS with critical injuries. No one else was seriously injured.
The intoxicated driver, identified as a 26-year-old male, was arrested for intoxication assault. The investigation is ongoing.
Update – One of the persons critically injured in this crash died at the hospital. He has been identified as a 23-year-old man.
