Six juveniles transported to hospitals with serious injuries after crash in Johnson County

TxDPS Troopers are investigating two related major accidents involving multiple vehicles that occurred on Sunday evening in Johnson County.

Multiple emergency responders were called to the scene at FM 917 and Applewood Court near Lillian around 5:52PM this past Sunday evening. Three vehicles were involved in a crash, which resulted in a second two-vehicle crash.

According to law enforcement, three vehicles were traveling west on FM 917 when traffic slowed to allow for a vehicle to turn onto Applewood Court. Two of the vehicles slowed to a stop; however, the three driver failed to control their speed and crashed into the vehicles, causing a chain-reaction crash.

Soon after the first crash, two vehicles, also westbound on FM 917, were involved in a crash while driving up on the first crash. One of the vehicles was able to stop, but the second driver failed to control their speed, crashing into the back of the first vehicle.

Four (4) juveniles from a vehicle involved in the first crash were transported to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth with serious injuries. Two (2) juveniles from a vehicle involved in the second crash were transported to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth with serious injuries.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.
