Motorcyclist driving recklessly seriously hurt in Wise County crash

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a major accident involving a motorcycle and a vehicle earlier this morning in Wise County.

Multiple emergency responders were called to the scene just after 8:00AM on Farm to Market Road 718 at County Road 4850. A motorcycle and a vehicle had collided and both caught fire.

Investigators say an SUV had turned left onto FM 718 from CR 4850 and was in the middle turn lane of FM 718 when a motorcycle crashed into the vehicle. The motorcyclist was traveling recklessly and at high speeds, according to police.

Air Evac Lifeteam 68 helicopter responded to the scene and airlifted the motorcyclist to JPS with critical injuries. The driver of the vehicle and a small child inside were not hurt.

Lanes of FM 718 were closed while police investigated the scene.

Driver killed after merging vehicle collides with 18-wheeler in Dallas

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred around 4AM in the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 near Cockrell Hill Road.

Police believe an SUV was merging to get onto the freeway from the entrance ramp when the driver and an 18-wheeler collided on the highway. The collision caused the 18-wheeler to lose control and overturn.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, a 64-year-old man, was trapped inside. Dallas Fire-Rescue extricated him from the wreckage and transported him to a local hospital with serious injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital with injuries. She has been identified as a 21-year-old woman.

All westbound lanes of Interstate 30 are currently closed due to this crash.

Two teenagers injured in shooting at Carrollton park

The Carrollton Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred earlier this evening at a park in the 2200 block of Ridgedale Drive.

Officers were called to the Holman D. Rhoton Park shortly after 5PM this evening. Multiple 9-1-1 calls reported there have been a shooting at the park.

Investigators say a large group of teenagers had gathered when a fight broke out. At some point during the fight, shots were fired and two teenagers were injured.

A 16-year-old and an 18-year-old, both males, were transported by Carrollton EMS to Parkland Hospital for treatment. They are both still hospitalized. Their conditions are undisclosed.

Detectives are working to determine what led up to the shooting and who is responsible.

Group of protestors marching in Dallas Mayor’s neighborhood

A group of protestors is currently marching through a residential neighborhood near the home of Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson.

The group, called We Take The Streets, held a rally at the Dallas City Hall at 7PM this evening. They have now started marching in a neighborhood near White Rock Lake.

Dallas police have several officers in the mayor’s neighborhood. According to reports on Twitter, officers have blocked off the Mayor’s street. We will not be posting a more specific location in the interest of safety.

At this time, there are no reports to indicate the group is acting in an uncivil manner.

The protestors and police have had interactions, all of which appear to be civil.

Police searching for missing child with autism in Denton

The Denton Police Department needs your help in locating Diego Antunez.

Diego is a 9-year-old boy from Denton who has autism. He was last spotted on his bicycle in the 4000 block of Spur Trail Drive. The residence is located in the Harvest Hill subdivision not far from Loop 288 and Sherman Drive.

Police say Diego is sensitive to bright lights and loud noises.

Call 9-1-1 immediately if you see him.

UPDATE: DPS-101 helicopter is overhead, assisting officers with their search.

UPDATE: He has been found safe, according to Denton PD.

Driver throws rock into mother’s car during road rage incident in Haltom City

A mother was shaken up today, understandably, after a man threw a rock into her vehicle during a road rage incident on Highway 377 in Haltom City.

This morning around 8:00AM, a woman, her young son and cousin were driving south on Highway 377 / Denton Highway approaching Western Center when a vehicle swerved into her lane from a turn lane. She honked, not knowing if the driver had seen her.

The driver who cut her off began driving erratically, swerving from lane to lane in an attempt to cause her to crash her vehicle. She continued to drive as normal, but changed lanes to avoid his erratic behavior.

As she entered into the turn lane at Browning, the driver got behind her and attempted to follow her into their neighborhood.

At this point, the man is leaning out of his car and yelling at them, according to the woman.

As the continue driving on Highway 377, the man throws a large rock threw the back window of her SUV. Luckily, it did not hit her or any of the persons inside the car.

He then sped off.

The Haltom City Police Department was called to take a report.

The suspect is described as a 20-30’s year old white male, slim build with brown hair and heavy facial hair. He was driving a Nissan Altima, dark gray in color with paper plates.

Woman sprays mace in man’s face during kidnapping attempt in Denton

On Sunday evening, a woman was walking along the frontage road of Interstate 35E near Centre Place Drive when she noticed a white van following closely behind her. She changed directions, but the van followed her.

The van pulled up alongside of her and a man jumped out of the passenger’s side of the car. He grabbed her around the waist and attempted to put her in the van, but she was able to spray mace into the man’s face.

After hit with the mace, the man dropped her, got back into the van, and sped off. The vehicle was last seen fleeing southbound on I35E.

Police have not released any more information about the van.

“The Denton Police Department encourages everyone to remain aware of their surroundings and stay alert, as the victim in this case did.”

The incident is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Denton PD at (940) 349-8181.

Teenager killed in Burleson shooting

The Burleson Police Department responded to a shooting around midnight last night at the Alsbury Villas apartments, 755 NE Alsbury Blvd, just west of I35W.

First arriving officers located a male shot and injured near the complex’s basketball court.

MedStar EMS transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified him as a 17-year-old resident of Burleson. He did not live at the complex, but in a neighborhood not far from the scene.

The Burleson Police Department is asking for the public’s help with information.

Driver hits motorcyclist, flees from crash along Highway 183 in Bedford

The Bedford Police Department is looking for the driver of a hit-and-run crash overnight on Sunday that left a motorcyclist seriously hurt.

At around 1AM on Sunday morning, a motorcyclist was struck from behind by a tan or gold colored truck as both traveled along Highway 183 near Central Drive. After the collision, the truck continued eastbound and did not stop to render aid.

The motorcyclist was ejected from his cycle. EMS transported him to a local hospital with multiple serious injuries. He remains hospitalized with serious traumatic injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Bedford PD and friends of the motorcyclist need help locating the driver who fled from the scene. The only information available is that the individual was driving a gold or tan colored truck.

UPDATE: Teenager critically injured in Waxahachie crash

This afternoon around 2PM, multiple emergency responders from the Waxahachie police and fire departments along with Ellis County EMS (AMR) all responded to a serious crash on northbound Highway 287 near I35E.

Reports indicate a vehicle was southbound on Highway 287 when, for an undetermined reason, the driver lost control, slid through the center median, and collided head-on with a northbound 18-wheeler.

The driver of the vehicle, who is said to be a teenager, was ejected and seriously hurt in the crash. Bystanders performed CPR while EMS was called to the scene.

The teenage male was transported to a local hospital with major injuries. His condition is serious, according to reports.

We are awaiting an official release from the Waxahachie Police Department with more information. When received, we will update below.
