Child airlifted to local hospital after bicycle crash in north Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a serious accident involving a vehicle and a young bicyclist.

Just before 4:45PM this afternoon, multiple emergency responders from Fort Worth FD, PD, and MedStar EMS were called to the scene in the 1900 block of Blue Mound Road West at Sebright Trail.

It was reported that a pickup truck had hit a young child on a bicycle. CareFlite was called to the scene and landed at nearby V.R. Eaton High School to airlift the child from the scene.

CareFlite airlifted the victim to a local downtown hospital with major injuries. Police say he is around 10 years of age.

The driver that hit him remained at the scene. No charges are expected.
