UPDATE: Driver dies after being airlifted from north Fort Worth crash

Just before 4:45PM this afternoon, the Fort Worth Fire Department, Police Department, and MedStar EMS were called to the scene of a crash in the 1800 block of Harriet Creek Drive just off Highway 114.

One pickup truck had collided into a tree off the roadway. Police believe the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred. Bystanders were able to pull the driver out before emergency responders arrived.

A CareFlite helicopter was called to the scene and airlifted the man to Texas Health Harris Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as a 41-year-old man from Justin.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. The Medical Examiner will rule on the official cause of death.
