Police track down and arrest suspect who allegedly killed man in Collin County
The Collin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting homicide that occurred on Tuesday afternoon in the 15300 block of County Road 558.
At around 4:45PM, police were called to the rural residence outside of Farmersville and located the body of a 32-year-old man. Witnesses said the suspect fled the scene after shooting and killing the man.
Sheriffs deputies issued a statewide BOLO (Be On The Lookout) for 31-year-old Alfred Olivo, the identified suspect in the murder.
Three hours after the shooting, officers from the New Boston, Texas Police Department observed the suspect vehicle traveling on Interstate 30. They attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the suspect sped off and led police on a chase that ended near Texarkana. Olivo was taken into custody.
“Alfred Olivo was captured within hours of this killing because of the collaboration of several North Texas law enforcement agencies who came together in a swift, seamless and coordinated fashion,” stated Collin County Sheriff Jim Skinner.
Olivo is currently in the Bi-State Detention Center on a $750,000 bond.
