UPDATE: 18-year-old arrested for murder of actor Eddie Hassell in Grand Prairie
The Grand Prairie Police Department has released an update regarding the homicide of 30-year-old actor Eddie Hassell.
On Wednesday, an 18-year-old man was arrested by the United States Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force and Grand Prairie Police Department. He has been charged with one count of Capital Murder in the shooting death of Hassell. He is currently being held at the Grand Prairie jail on a $500,000 bond.
Detectives in the case discovered that the suspect was attempting to rob Hassell at the time of the shooting. It was a random attack.
Hassell’s vehicle was taken from the Indigo Pointe apartments, where the shooting happened overnight Sunday, but it was later recovered.
The incident remains under investigation.
