Man struck, killed by vehicle along FM 455 in Sanger

At around 7:30AM on Thursday morning, the Sanger Fire / EMS and Police Department were called to the scene of a person lying in the roadway ditch along FM 455 near Kildee Trail.

Dispatch reported the individual may have been struck by a passing vehicle.

Emergency personnel located a deceased man along the roadway. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim has been identified as a 42-year-old man who lived about a mile and a half from the scene.

According to DPS, the Sanger Police Department is investigating the crash. They have not released any information.

Fire burns storage tanks at chemical facility near Cresson

At around 8:00PM this evening, multiple fire departments from Parker and Hood counties were dispatched to a fire at the Tri-Chem facility, 2600 North Cresson Highway (Highway 171).

Heavy black smoke was visible while units were responding.

First-arriving firefighters reported multiple storage tanks on fire at the facility. At this time, the building did not catch fire.

The fire has been brought under control at this time.

The cause is under investigation.

Motorcyclist killed in overnight crash on I-20 in Forest Hill

Around 1:30AM this morning, Forest Hill police and fire along with MedStar EMS were called to the scene of a serious crash involving a motorcycle along westbound Interstate 20 near the SE Loop 820 interchange.

A motorcycle traveling at high speeds collided with the back of a vehicle that had stopped on the side of the highway.

The motorcyclist was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene, according to MedStar.

Lanes of the highway were closed while police investigated the scene.

No other information has been released.

Four bicyclists injured, one fatally, after crash with vehicle in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident involving a group of bicyclists that occurred just before 6:30AM this morning.

Multiple emergency responders were called to the scene on Dottie Lynn Parkway over Division Street near the city border of Fort Worth and Arlington.

Officials say a group of four bicyclists were southbound on Dottie Lynn Parkway when a vehicle hit them from behind.

One of the bicyclists was pronounced deceased at the scene. One bicyclist, reported to be an off-duty Arlington police officer, was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. Two others sustained scrapes and bruises.

Alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.

The driver of the sedan who hit the group remained at the scene. It is unknown if he or she will face any charges.

At current time (9:30AM), all lanes of Dottie Lynn Parkway over Division Street are closed for investigation.

It is best to avoid the area.

Man drowns while swimming at Lake Lewisville park

The Texas Parks and Wildlife division is investigating the drowning death of a man yesterday at Lake Lewisville.

Officials say he was swimming at a local lake park when he went under and did not resurface.

Multiple emergency responders from Lewisville were called to the scene in an effort to locate and save him, but it was too late. His body was recovered around 8:15PM last night.

The victim has been identified as a 21-year-old man from Carrollton.

Intoxicated driver arrested after hitting, killing motorcyclist in Arlington and running from the scene

The Arlington Police Department has arrested a 28-year-old man and charged him with multiple offenses after a fatal collision that occurred late last night.

Just before midnight on Wednesday, emergency responders were called to a crash on South Cooper Street at Sturgeon Court in far south Arlington.

A driver turning left onto Cooper Street from Sturgeon Court struck a motorcyclist who was driving northbound on Cooper Street. The motorcyclist was critically injured in the crash, and later pronounced deceased at a local hospital. He has been identified as a 50-year-old man from Arlington.

The driver who caused the crash ran away from the scene, but was apprehended nearby by responding officers. He has been identified as a 28-year-old man. Police have charged him with Intoxication Manslaughter and Accident Involving Death after he was determined to be impaired at the time of the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.

18-year-old arrested for beating his father to death at Saginaw house

The Saginaw Police Department has arrested a 18-year-old man and charged him in the death of his father, a 52-year-old male found dead in his house on Saturday evening.

Around dinnertime on Saturday, police were called to an unresponsive person at a house in the 300 block of Parkview Drive in Saginaw. The victim, publicly identified as a 52-year-old man, was deceased in one of the bedrooms. Police noticed signs of trauma and began an investigation.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office has ruled the man’s death a homicide, resulting from head injuries.

The investigation led police to issue an arrest warrant for the victim’s 18-year-old son, David Beevers. He was arrested on Monday without incident.

David Beevers is currently in the Tarrant County jail on a Murder charge. His bond is listed at $75,000.

19-year-old found shot in crashed vehicle in River Oaks neighborhood

The River Oaks Police Department has launched a homicide investigation into the shooting death of a 19-year-old man found dead in a crashed vehicle early Saturday morning.

Officers located a vehicle that had crashed in a neighborhood near the 1000 block of Keith Pumphrey Drive just before 1:00AM. The driver, a 19-year-old man, had sustained a gunshot wound.

He was transported to Texas Health Harris Hospital, but pronounced deceased.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner lists his address as just across River Oaks Blvd from where the vehicle was located.

Police are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crime. A homicide investigation is ongoing at this time.

Mother arrested after killing 4-year-old daughter in Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department has arrested a 34-year-old mother and charged her with Capital Murder in the stabbing death of her 4-year-old daughter.

Today at 11:35AM, Krystal Lewandowski called 9-1-1 to report her daughter was missing. She was last seen in the backyard of their residence in the 2100 block of Hurley Ave.

As the mother spoke to the 9-1-1 operator working to get a better description of the child, she said, “OK, maybe I should just tell you now. OK, so last night I was advised to slit her throat,” according to the official arrest warrant.

After confessing to killing her daughter, Lewandowski stated she had wrapped the child in a blanket and put her in a trash can in the backyard.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and located the deceased 4-year-old where the mother had told Dispatch.

“While on scene, Lewandowski made several statements about causing harm to her daughter because she was told to do so, or something worse would happen to her daughter,” reads the arrest warrant. She also stated in an interview that she “saved” her daughter and was preventing something worse from happening to her.

The crime occurred last night, during the evening hours of August 23rd. Another child was home at the time of the incident. The sibling has been removed by CPS.

Fort Worth PD obtained an arrest warrant and booked her into the Fort Worth jail just before 8:30PM this evening. She has been charged with Capital Murder.

The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Swimmer drowns at Lake Pat Cleburne

The Cleburne Police Department is investigating the drowning death of a 29-year-old man at Lake Pat Cleburne.

Multiple emergency responders were called to the scene in the 2200 block of Lakeshore Drive just before 7:00PM on Saturday evening. It was reported that a swimmer had gone under and did not resurface.

Witnesses were able to find him and begin resuscitation efforts. Cleburne EMS transported him to Texas Health Cleburne hospital, but he was pronounced deceased.

He has been identified as a 29-year-old man from Fort Worth.
