Medical Examiner confirms human remains found in Sachse belong to missing Wylie woman

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified human remains found in Sachse two months ago.

On Saturday, February 26th, Sachse police officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of Merritt Road after a contracting crew reported finding human remains along a creek bed on the property.

The remains were observed by responding officers, who secured the scene and called for the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office. The ME took possession of the remains from the scene.

On Thursday, March 31st, the Dallas County Medical Examiner positively identified the skeletal remains as Faiza Fahad. She had voluntarily left her Wylie home on May 12th of last year to go for a walk, but did not return. Her former residence and discovery site are 4 miles away.

No cause of death has been determined at this time. The FBI is assisting local law enforcement with the investigation.

Pedestrian killed in crash on 377 in Cresson

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Thursday evening along Highway 377 in Parker County.

At 8:53pm, multiple emergency agencies were dispatched to the area of Highway 377 and Kelly Road after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. Paramedics pronounced the pedestrian deceased on the scene.

Police say a driver was traveling south on 377 when a pedestrian ran onto the roadway from the barrow ditch.

The pedestrian has been identified as a 58-year-old homeless man. The driver was not seriously injured.

Lanes of 377 were closed while DPS investigated the crash.
