Dallas police looking for coyote that critically injured 2-year-old child

The Dallas Police Department and Texas Game Wardens are hunting for a coyote that critically injured a 2-year-old child earlier this morning.

At around 8:28am this morning, Dallas Police and Fire-Rescue were called to an animal attack at a home in the 9200 block of Royalpine Drive north of White Rock Lake. Paramedics transported the young child to a local hospital with critical injuries.

Officers determined the child was sitting on his front porch when the coyote attacked. A quick responding officer observed the coyote and fired shots at the animal, but it ran off into a wooded area. Police are actively searching the area for the coyote.

“All those who live or visits that area should be on alert and consider this animal extremely dangerous,” said Dallas PD.

Below is an actual picture of the coyote responsible for the attack. If you locate this coyote, you are asked to call 911.
