Driver killed after crashing into Irving FD blocker truck

At around 2:30am on Sunday morning, Irving Fire/EMS and Police responded to a multiple vehicle crash on southbound Loop 12 near Irving Blvd. At least one fatality was reported in the crash.

Irving firefighters responded with a blocker truck, an old firetruck repurposed to block lanes of a highway while first responders work an accident scene.

At around 4:30am, Irving police officers were investigating the fatality accident when the driver of a pickup truck crashed into the blocker truck. The driver was pronounced deceased.

Irving FD estimates the driver was traveling at around 100mph at the time of the collision.

No first responders were injured in the crash. It might have been a different story if the blocker truck had not been positioned on the highway.

Fort Worth police looking for witnesses of overnight wreck that killed two people

At 12:26am this morning, Fort Worth Fire Department, Police Department, and MedStar EMS responded to a major accident in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 30 near Cooks Lane.

Upon arrival, officers determined two individuals were deceased at the scene. Police say the two individuals were struck by a passing vehicle after an initial collision on the highway. A pickup truck, sedan, and motorcycle were involved.

Detectives are asking that if anyone witnessed this incident take place to please call them at 817–392-4886.

Eastbound lanes of Interstate 30 were closed for approximately six hours while traffic investigators worked the scene.

The identities of the victims have not been released.

UPDATE: Juveniles killed, others hurt in Ellis County crash

[Updated Information]

On Sunday, September 17, at around 7:08pm, several emergency responders from Ellis County were called to the scene of a serious crash involving an ATV at Boz Road and Greathouse Road southwest of Waxahachie.

DPS troopers say a ATV occupied by four juveniles was traveling westbound on Boz Road and failed to stop at a stop sign. A pickup truck traveling northbound on Greathouse Road collided with the ATV in the intersection.

The ATV was occupied by four juveniles: a 16-year-old female, a 12-year-old boy, a 14-year-old female, and a 14-year-old boy. The 12-year-old male and 14-year-old male have succumbed to their injuries.

The couple in the pickup truck were transported to a local hospital with injuries.

The investigation into this crash is ongoing.

[Update] – DPS originally listed the 16-year-old female as the driver, but are still investigating who was operating the ATV.

Woman killed in crash on Northwest Highway in University Park

On September 16 at around 3:00am, University Park Police were dispatched to a one vehicle accident in the 3600 block of Northwest Parkway near Thackery Street.

When UPPD officers arrived on scene, DPD officers and a Dallas Fire Rescue crew were already providing emergency care to the driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle.

Police say the vehicle struck a tree in the median area between Northwest Highway and Northwest Parkway. “Although the vehicle was apparently driving at a fairly high rate of speed at the time of the accident, there were no skid marks.”

Dallas Fire Rescue transported the driver to a local hospital, but she was pronounced deceased. She has been identified as a 34-year-old.

The crash remains under investigation.

Pedestrian sustains significant injuries in Everman crash

At around 4:00pm today, Everman Fire/EMS and Police were dispatched to a crash in the 200 block of Shelby Road near Thomas Place.

A female pedestrian was struck by a cargo trailer from a pickup truck as it traveled along Shelby Road. The woman sustained significant injuries in the accident, prompting Everman paramedics to call for CareFlite.

A CareFlite helicopter airlifted the woman to a Fort Worth trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.

Man critically hurt in downtown Dallas shooting

At around 12:50pm, Dallas police were dispatched to the McDonald’s at 1000 Commerce Street in downtown for a shooting investigation. Dispatched information indicate a suspect shot one person and ran away on foot.

When officers arrived minutes later, they located a man shot at the location. Dallas Fire Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition.

Police have a male suspect in custody.

The incident remains under investigation.

Motorcyclist killed in east Fort Worth crash

On September 14th, 2023, at 9:31pm, Fort Worth police were notified of a major accident between a motorcyclist and a vehicle at 1550 Eastchase Parkway.

Officers arrived to find the motorcyclist deceased at the scene.

Police say the motorcyclist was heading southbound at a high rate of speed when they collided with a vehicle that was northbound and making a turn into a parking lot.

The identity of the motorcyclist has not yet been released.

Woman, child killed in crash near Lake Worth

On September 15, 2023, at 04:13am, Fort Worth Police Department, Fire Department, and MedStar EMS responded to a major accident involving one vehicle at 5200 Boat Club Road near Oaklake Drive.

Officials say the driver of a vehicle lost control and crashed into a tree. The female driver and young child that were in the vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene.

Their identities have not yet been released.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

NEW: Murder suspect shoots, injures Dallas officer, remains on the run

On September 14, 2023, at around 1:25 pm, Dallas Police were called to the 4800 block of Scyene for a shooting. 

The preliminary investigation determined one person was shot at the location. Officers saw the suspect firing into the vehicle. 

The suspect then fired at officers and officers returned fire at the suspect. 

The suspect left the scene and officers chased  the suspect to the 4700 block of Second Avenue. 

The preliminary investigation determined the suspect fired again  at officers. Both officers returned fire toward the suspect. 

One officer was hit in the vest. The officer was taken to a local hospital and is currently stable. 

The investigation is ongoing and we are currently are searching for the suspect. 

Detectives have determined the initial shooting was not random. The suspect and victim knew each other. 

The victim in the shooting on Scyene died from his injuries. The victim’s identity is not being released until next of kin is notified. 

Dallas Police are asking for help with locating the pictured suspect.

Four Dallas officers injured in crash while investigating shooting

On September 14, 2023, at around 3:10 am, Dallas Police responded to the 3100 block of Community Drive for a shooting call. 

The preliminary investigation determined when officers arrived they found a man shot in the leg, and the victim was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

The suspect was taken into custody on the scene.

During the investigation into the shooting, an uninvolved driver hit a marked squad car with one officer inside, and the patrol vehicle then hit three officers.

The officers were taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

The driver stayed at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
