Woman sitting on I30 fatally struck by vehicles, Arlington police say
At around 4:25am, Arlington officers, firefighters and paramedics responded to the eastbound lanes of I-30 near Fielder Road to investigate reports that a pedestrian had been hit.
After speaking with witnesses and reviewing other evidence, investigators determined an adult woman was sitting down in the far right lane of the highway – and by the time several eastbound drivers could see her, they were unable to avoid colliding with her.
The drivers that struck the woman stopped, called 911, and cooperated with investigators. They are not facing any criminal charges in connection to this incident.
It’s unclear why the woman was sitting in the roadway. The investigation is ongoing.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify her once next of kin have been notified.
