Driver dies in crash on I30 near Downtown Dallas

On March 9, at around midnight, Dallas Fire Rescue and Dallas County sheriffs deputies responded to a major accident on westbound I30 near Lamar Street.

Investigators say a driver was traveling in the right lane when it turned into an exit only. He attempted to swerve back onto the highway, but struck the attenuator dividing the exit ramp and the highway.

The 36-year-old male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. His passenger was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

The initial wreck caused a chain reaction crash with two other vehicles.

There are no charges pending, per DSO.
