Man’s body located in White Rock Creek
On Saturday, April 20th, at 10:32 p.m., Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR) units were dispatched to White Rock Creek, at 4945 W. Lawther Drive, to assist with the search of a man who was swept into the water while trying to cross the creek on foot.
There was a woman with him who called 911, but she was uninjured and remained on-scene providing information to first responders.
Multiple DFR units, to include boats, rescues, heavy apparatus and their drone team, worked with DPD resources in the search; which went well into the morning hours with no success.
Sunday morning (between 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.) Police and Fire units resumed the search; and with the water being a lot calmer and levels a bit lower, crews were able to locate the deceased body of a man, fitting the description of the victim, at approximately 11:30 a.m. The man was located about 100 yards from the location he went missing from, and his body was pulled from the water and transferred to the care of the Dallas County Medical Examiner, which will confirm identity and cause of death.
