Two-vehicle crash claims life of driver in Denton

At around 6:44am this morning, Denton Fire/EMS and Police responded to a major accident along West University Blvd (Highway 360) at Western Blvd just west of Interstate 35.

Police say the driver of a sedan was westbound on Highway 380, attempting to turn left onto Western Blvd. As he initiated the turn, he was struck by a pickup truck traveling eastbound on Highway 380.

The driver of the sedan was transported to a local hospital, but pronounced deceased. He has been identified as a 50-year-old man from Aubrey.

The other driver was not seriously injured.

Lanes were closed through the morning while Denton police investigated the scene.

Cleburne woman arrested for stabbing father-in-law to death

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 9:53 am, Cleburne Police and Cleburne Fire responded to an active disturbance in the 700 block of Miracle Ln. While en route to the address, officers learned that it was an active stabbing. A female was stabbing a male.

Jennifer Lynn Brabbin, a 41-year-old female from Cleburne, was immediately taken into custody. The male, her 76-year-old father-in-law, sustained severee stab wounds and was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Jennifer Brabbin has been booked into the Johnson County Law Enforcement Center on a charge of murder and is awaiting arraignment.

The incident remains under investigation.

Update: Swimmer’s body recovered near Little Elm Beach

Just after 12:00pm on Friday afternoon, Little Elm Fire Department was dispatched to a possible drowning in the area of Little Elm Beach, 701 W. Eldorado Parkway.

Details indicate a man was swimming between the shoreline and the beach buoys when witnesses lost sight of him.

Lewisville FD’s Dive Team and Texas Game Wardens assisted in locating the body of the 20’s year old man, which was recovered about four hours later.

The incident remains under investigation.

Intoxicated driver crashes in Uptown Dallas, critically injuring passenger

At 2:25am this morning, Dallas Fire Rescue and Police responded to a major accident at the intersection of McKinney Avenue and Lemmon Avenue in Uptown Dallas.

Police say a 27-year-old man was “speeding through an intersection” when he crashed his vehicle.

A passenger inside the vehicle was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The driver was arrested and charged with Intoxication Assault.

Man killed, suspect on the run after shooting in Mansfield

The Mansfield Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 800 Block of Cutting Horse Dr.

On Thursday, September 19, 2024, at approximately 4:36 p.m., officers from the Mansfield Police Department were dispatched to a welfare check in the 800 block of Cutting Horse Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male victim with an apparent gunshot wound. The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

As officers approached, citizens were performing CPR. Mansfield Fire Department Medics arrived and continued life-saving measures.

The male victim was transported to a local hospital, but pronounced deceased.

Detectives are actively investigating to identify a suspect or suspects involved in this incident.

24-year-old trucker causes fatal crash on W. Loop 820

At 1:27am this morning, Fort Worth dispatch received 9-1-1 calls near West Loop 820 and White Settlement Road about an accident involving an 18-wheeler that had struck multiple vehicles, trapping one person in their vehicle.

A preliminary investigation of the scene reveals construction in the area forced all northbound traffic to one lane. Traffic had come to a stop, but the driver of an 18-wheeler failed to control his speed and collided with other vehicles.

One person in one of the vehicles struck by the 18-wheeler was pronounced deceased at the scene. One other person was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The 24-year-old 18-wheeler driver was transported to the hospital, followed by DWI officers whom conducted as much of the field sobriety tests as they could and determined him to be intoxicated.

He was arrested for Intoxication Manslaughter w/ Vehicle and Intoxicated Assault w/ Vehicle.

Update: Three rescued after Pandemonium rollercoaster stalls at Six Flags Arlington

At 8:56pm on Saturday night, Arlington firefighters were dispatched to a rescue situation at Six Flags.

Three people – one adult and two kids – were trapped on the Pandemonium rollercoaster after a rail car stalled. Initial reports indicate a sweater got stuck between the car and the rail, causing the ride to stall.

The rail car was stuck 16-20 feet in the area at a 45-degree angle.

Arlington firefighters worked for about an hour to safely rescue the three individuals. All persons were safely rescued without injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.

Four people killed in three-vehicle crash along I45 in Dallas

On September 14, 2024, at about 1:00 p.m., Dallas Police and Fire Rescue responded to a three vehicle crash on the southbound lanes of Interstate 45 near Simpson Stuart Road.

The preliminary investigation determined a vehicle was northbound on Interstate 45, when it collided with a second vehicle, causing the first vehicle to cross the median, go into southbound traffic, and hit two vehicles in the southbound lanes, before crashing into the guardrail and flipping over.

Three people inside the first vehicle died at the scene. 

The driver of the second vehicle self-transported to a local hospital.

Both drivers of the vehicles involved in the southbound lanes were taken to local hospitals. One driver died at the hospital and the other driver’s condition is unknown. 

Lanes of southbound I45 were closed while Dallas police investigated the scene.

Man killed in Coppell crash

At 10:46pm, Coppell Fire/EMS and Police responded to a major accident at the intersection of Branchwood Trail and W. Sandy Lake Road in Coppell.

Reports indicate the crash involved a single vehicle that overturned.

One adult man was pronounced deceased as a result of this accident. Multiple emergency responders remained on the scene until 3:30am this morning.

Coppell Police have not released any details.
