Tarrant County deputy stabbed, suspect shot dead during Haltom City warrant service

Just before 2:00pm this afternoon, deputies with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve a warrant at a home in the 5600 block of Twin Oaks Drive.

While deputies were executing the warrant, a physical altercation occurred with a suspect, resulting in one of the deputies being cut.

The suspect was shot after stabbing the deputy. The suspect has been pronounced dead at the scene.

The deputy was transported by ground ambulance to a Fort Worth hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.

Driver dies after vehicle found submerged in pond at Fort Worth golf course

At 8:06am this morning, Fort Worth Fire and Police along with Medstar EMS responded to a water emergency call at the River Crest Country Club.

When emergency responders arrived, they located a vehicle submerged in a pond on the golf course.

Firefighters recovered the body of an elderly man at the scene. His identity has not been released.

The incident remains under investigation.

One person killed in reported road rage shooting, Fort Worth police say

At 6:40pm this evening, Fort Worth police responded to a shooting incident along the northbound lanes of E. Loop 820 near Meadowbrook Drive.

When emergency responders arrived, they located an unconscious person in a vehicle. Officers quickly determined the person had been shot.

MedStar EMS transported the victim to a local hospital. The victim was then pronounced deceased.

Investigators believe this shooting was a result of road rage. No suspect(s) have been taken into custody.

Parker County man killed in Azle crash

On Saturday, January 25, at around 10:45pm, Azle Police and Fire/EMS were dispatched to a major accident on Highway 199 near Stewart Street.

When Azle officers arrived at the scene, they confirmed one person was trapped in a vehicle with major damage. Firefighters determined the man had been killed in the crash.

Investigators say an eastbound vehicle crossed over the center median and struck a westbound vehicle head-on.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as a 67-year-old man from the Springtown area. He and his wife were traveling westbound when the accident occurred.

The incident remains under investigation.

Driver killed in north Fort Worth crash, reportedly fleeing from a hit and run

On Sunday, January 26th, at around 1:36pm, Fort Worth PD, FD, and Medstar EMS responded to a major accident along the southbound I35W service road near the North Loop 820 interchange.

Emergency responders arrived to find a pickup truck against a wall with major damage. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Just minutes prior to the crash, police received report that a pickup truck matching the description was involved in a hit and run crash at I35W and Western Center. Investigators are working to determine if it’s the same vehicle.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Juvenile electrocuted at Saginaw power substation, airlifted to Parkland

On Saturday, January 25th, Saginaw Fire and Police along with Fort Worth Fire and MedStar EMS responded to an electrocution at a power substation in the 1000 block of Grand Central Parkway.

Authorities say a subject who had threatened self-harm ran from officers and was subsequently electrocuted at the power supply terminal. Officers contained the fire and called for EMS.

A CareFlite helicopter airlifted the juvenile male to Parkland Hospital with life-threatening injuries. His condition is not known.

The incident remains under investigation.

Man armed with knife fatally shot by Fort Worth police

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating an officer-involved shooting.

On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at approximately 4:22 a.m., officers were called to a domestic disturbance in the 5800 block of Westgate Drive.

The caller opened the front door of the house but was having difficulty opening a second metal screen door. At that time, officers observed an armed adult male inside the house with a knife in hand, acting aggressively towards other occupants. Therefore, officers sought an alternate point of entry to the house.

Officers arrived at the back of the house, and due to the fear of others being harmed within the household, officers attempted to force their way in. The man then charged at the officers with knives in hand at which point officers opened fire and shot the man.

The man was pronounced deceased on the scene.  No officers or other civilians were injured.

The Major Case Unit, in conjunction with Internal Affairs, is investigating, and per standard protocol, the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office responded to the scene.

Motorcyclist killed in crash near Little Elm

At around 12:28am this morning, multiple emergency responders were dispatched to a crash in the 3300 block of W. Eldorado Parkway west of Little Elm.

A preliminary investigation has determined that a 28-year-old man operating a motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Eldorado Parkway when he veered into the oncoming traffic while turning, and hit a vehicle head-on.

Paramedics transported the motorcyclist to a Denton hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the vehicle was not seriously injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE: 17-year-old killed after vehicle crashes into Lake Worth

At around 8:07am this morning, Lake Worth FD, Fort Worth FD, Fort Worth PD, and MedStar EMS responded to a major accident in the 8600 block of Heron Drive.

First arriving responders found a vehicle overturned in trees and water near the given address.

When they made it to the vehicle, they found one person deceased with no other apparent victims. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as a 17-year-old male from Fort Worth.

Fort Worth PD is investigating the cause of the crash.

Driver killed after colliding into 18-wheeler, Arlington police say

The Arlington Police Department is investigating a crash that resulted in a vehicle fire and the death of an unidentified driver.

On Saturday, January, 4, 2025, at approximately 2:05 a.m., officers responded to the eastbound lanes of I-20 near S. Cooper Street after receiving reports of a collision between a car and an 18-wheeler.

When they arrived on scene, they found a vehicle fully engulfed in flames. The Arlington Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.

Once the fire was out, they found the remains of the driver inside. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators have been unable to identify this individual at this time.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured. 

Investigators believe the driver of the vehicle was traveling eastbound along I-20 at a high rate of speed and rear-ended the 18-wheeler, causing the vehicle to catch fire. Alcohol has not been ruled out as a possible contributing factor.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased once they have been positively identified and next of kin notified.
