UPDATE: Cleburne woman dies after being struck by vehicle

At around 2:45pm this afternoon, Cleburne Fire/EMS and Police along with CareFlite Ground EMS responded to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the 500 block of Phillips Street.

It was initially reported that a woman was struck by a vehicle. When emergency crews arrived on scene, they began treating the elderly woman and called for a CareFlite helicopter.

The CareFlite helicopter landed nearby and airlifted the woman to a local hospital. She was pronounced deceased from her injuries a short time later, according to records from the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Cleburne PD is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Man’s body recovered from Eagle Mountain Lake

On August 24, 2025, at approximately 3:25 p.m., TRWD Law Enforcement officers recovered a body from Eagle Mountain Lake.. The recovery took place near Crest Point, located on the southeast portion of the lake, in the area where an individual had been reported missing and was last seen around 5:00 p.m. on August 23.

The body has been transferred to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office for official identification (Case Number: 2513734). The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident remains ongoing.

TRWD was assisted in the recovery efforts by Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens and Eagle Mountain Fire Department. We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time.

Original Release

At approximately 5:00 PM, TRWD Communications received a call reporting two children floating in the water and screaming for help. A nearby boater rescued the children and reported the incident. TRWD LED units responded, secured the children, and initiated an investigation. It was determined that the children had been on the lake in a small watercraft with their father. The father, a 50 year old male, has not been located and is currently considered missing.

TRWD Police Officers are searching for the missing man with assistance from Texas Parks and Wildlife, Fort Worth Police Department and Eagle Mountain Fire Department.

Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicles near High Five in Dallas

On August 23, 2025, at about 1:25 a.m., Dallas police responded to a major accident in the 13300 block of N Central Expressway on the southbound side.

The preliminary investigation determined that a victim was struck by multiple vehicles.

Richardson Fire Rescue responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

A driver of a vehicle involved remained at scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

Early morning crash kills one person in Hurst

The Hurst Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred around 2:20am this morning in the 200 block of Brown Trail.

Hurst Police and Fire responded to the scene and located an overturned vehicle.

According to police, a passenger was ejected in the crash. Paramedics pronounced the individual deceased at the scene. At least one other person was transported to a local hospital.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

Man found shot inside crashed car, Fort Worth police say

On Monday, August 18, 2025, at approximately 2:51 p.m., Fort Worth police responded to a major accident near the 4600 block of E. Berry Street. A 9-1-1 caller reported a small sedan struck a light pole and the driver was possibly shot.

Officers arrived and confirmed that the driver was shot. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Officials believe that a verbal altercation took place near a convenience store between the victim and two individuals occupying a pickup truck. At least one gunshot was fired at the driver of the sedan at some point after both vehicles left the store.

Officers were able to track down the pickup truck and detain both individuals inside of it. These individuals have been transported for questioning.

One person killed in crash near Fort Worth Meacham Airport

At 4:13am on Sunday morning, Fort Worth Fire/EMS and Police responded to a major accident at Terminal Road and N. Main Street.

Battalion 3 reported a head-on collision involving two vehicles with two people trapped.

One of the individuals was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second individual was extricated and transported to a local hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Woman killed in Denton crash; driver arrested for Intoxication Manslaughter

At approximately 9:22pm on Friday evening, Denton Fire/EMS and Police responded to a major accident at the intersection of Windsor Drive and Northway.

A vehicle turning onto Northwest from Windsor Drive was struck on the passenger side by a 22-year-old driver.

One of the passengers in the turning vehicle was transported to a local hospital and later pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as a 58-year-old woman.

The 22-year-old driver was treated for injuries at the scene. He was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon: Intoxication Manslaughter with a Vehicle. He is currently in the Denton city jail.

The incident remains under investigation.

Intoxicated driver causes wreck, kills innocent driver in Garland, police say

Early this morning, just after 2:30 a.m., an SUV suspected of traveling northbound on N. Garland Ave. at a high rate of speed struck another vehicle in the intersection of Garland Ave. and Kingsley Rd.

The driver of the other vehicle did not survive.

The driver of the SUV, suspected of driving while intoxicated, has been arrested and charged with Intoxication Manslaughter. A passenger from the SUV was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The intersection was closed for accident investigation. They have been reopened as of 10:30am.

Armed man shot, critically injured by Carrollton officer

On Tuesday, August 12th, at around 9:48pm, Carrollton police officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 2700 block of E. Belt Line Road.

During the traffic stop, officers developed reasonable suspicion of narcotics activity and began a drug investigation. During the investigation, the driver brandished a firearm and threatened to shoot himself. He got out of the vehicle and began walking away with the gun pointed to his head, threatening to shoot officers and himself. He walked a short distance before running into the 14900 block of Venture Drive in Farmers Branch.

As Carrollton officers chased after the man, he turned toward them with the gun in his hand. A Carrollton officer discharged their weapon, striking the suspect multiple times. He was then taken into custody.

Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition. He has been charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Convicted Felon), a third-degree felony, and Aggravated Assault of a Peace Officer, a first-degree felony.

Armed man shot by Irving police

On Saturday, August 9th, at around 3:34am, Irving Police responded to reports of a suspicious person in the 1400 block of N. Nursery Road.

When officers arrived, they spoke to the individual who had called 9-1-1 and began looking in the area for the suspicious person.

Officers found the subject who presented a firearm. He refused to follow the commands of officers, leading one of them to fire and shoot him at least once.

The 25-year-old suspect was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. He has been charged with Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant.

The incident remains under investigation.
