The Denton PD is investigating a fatality crash that occurred earlier this evening in the 2200 block of Fort Worth Drive (Hwy 377) between Massey St. and E. Mission St. Denton PD confirms a vehicle vs. motorcycle crash and one fatality. The investigation is ongoing.
The Dallas Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance regarding the following incident:
On March 18, 2017, at about 2:10 a.m., a dark colored sedan, unknown make and model, struck a female pedestrian in the 2200 block of Cedar Springs Road. After the vehicle struck the female pedestrian, the unknown driver stopped and exited the vehicle. The driver walked back, looked at the pedestrian on the ground, and fled the location in an unknown direction. The driver is described as a Black male with short curly hair, approximately 5’10” to 6’2” in height, and was last seen wearing a gray shirt and black pants. The suspect vehicle has front-end damage to the front windshield and possibly the back window. The victim is 23-year-old Rachel Spelman.

On March 18, 2017, at about 3:04 am, Hurst Police Officer Brandon Minchew was sitting in his marked patrol Chevrolet Tahoe in the 100 block of the northbound lanes of Loop 820. Officer Minchew was blocking lanes of traffic due to a previous accident. While sitting in his vehicle with the emergency lights activated, it was struck in the back by a white Mazda sedan. Officer Minchew was transported to the hospital, treated for injuries, and released. The other driver was not injured. She was arrested and booked into the Hurst Jail for Intoxication Assault with a Vehicle.
The Arlington Police Department responded to a single car fatality crash that occurred around 5:30 a.m. in the 300 block of S. Bowen Rd. A woman driving a sedan lost control of her vehicle and struck the side of a commercial building. The Fire Department responded to the scene and helped remove the driver from the damaged car. The woman was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
Farmersville FD, Collin County EMS, and multiple law enforcement are working a rollover accident on eastbound Highway 380 near CR 699 just east of Farmersville. PHI Med 2 is airlifting one patient to Medical Center of Plano from this scene. Eastbound lanes of 380 are closed.
Multiple law enforcement are on scene of a major accident reportedly involving a vehicle fire on southbound I35E just before the Lake Lewisville bridge.
Quint 16, Engine 16, and MedStar are on scene of a burn victim in the 2200 block of Aden Road. CareFlite has been launched to the scene for air transport. Unknown how the patient was burned.
Frisco Quint 8, Plano Engine 10, and DPS troopers are on scene of a major accident on northbound 121 near Coit Road. All northbound lanes have been closed along with at least one SB lane. Reports indicate a vehicle and a gas truck involved. HazMat has been requested to the scene. Expect a prolonged closure due to cleanup.
Dallas Fire-Rescue and Dallas Police are working a major accident on northbound Walton Walker/Loop 12 at I30. Reports indicate one vehicle caught fire. Truck 50 reports a fatality at the scene. All northbound lanes are forced to exit off the freeway. Accident Investigators have been called to the scene.
