Multiple vehicle crash in Ellis County critically injures multiple people; teenager killed
Around 6:40am this morning, emergency responders from Italy Police and Fire departments along with Ellis County EMS personnel responded to a major accident involving multiple vehicles on southbound I35E at the 389 mile marker between Forreston and Italy.
Upon arrival, it was determined that multiple people had been injured and one person had died at the scene.
An air medical helicopter was requested to the scene. Air Evac Lifeteam responded and airlifted one person to Parkland Hospital.
Ellis County EMS sent three ambulances to the scene. A total of four people were transported from the scene with serious to critical injuries.
Italy PD says the deceased is a 13-year-old male.
Forreston FD, DPS troopers, and Ellis County sheriffs deputies also responded to the scene. Southbound lanes of I35E were blocked during the crash.
No other information has been released.
