Major Accident (Somervell County)

Multiple agencies from Somervell County and Hood County are on scene of a major accident on Highway 144 near County Road 302. This will be near the Somervell and Hood county line.

Units are requested a total of three (3) medical helicopters to the scene for multiple people injured. There is also a reported of a fatality on scene.

It is reported to involved two vehicles. Head-on collision with heavy damage.

Major delays on Highway 144 due to this crash.

Update – Air Evac has departed the scene.

Possible road rage to blame for Friday night crash in Arlington that killed one person

The Arlington Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding a major accident that occurred last night (Friday) around 8:45pm.

Arlington Fire Dept., EMS, and Police officers responded to a major crash just after 8:45pm at Six Flags Drive and Highway 360. The accident involved an overturned pickup truck.

Investigators believe the driver was traveling eastbound on Six Flags Drive and preparing to take the on-ramp for eastbound I30 towards Dallas. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it left the roadway and overturned several times. Those familiar with the area know the ramps for I30 from Six Flags drive was sharp and may be tricky to navigate.

As the vehicle overturned, one of the three occupants inside the vehicle was ejected. This person was taken by EMS to a local hospital, but died.

The driver was arrested for Intoxication Manslaughter after receiving minor treatment at a local hospital. He remains in the Arlington jail.

Detectives are looking into the possibility that another motorist may have been involved in a road rage incident with the suspect’s vehicle prior to the crash. If you saw something that may be related to this crash, call the Arlington Police Department.

Last night: One person airlifted after police chase, rollover crash in Ellis County

Around 7:30pm last night, Waxahachie and Ellis County firefighters, Ellis County EMS, and multiple law enforcement responded to a major accident secondary to a police chase in the area of Highway 77 at FM 55 north of Forreston.

Ellis County law enforcement were monitoring a police pursuit involving Navarro County law enforcement when the suspect crashed out near the intersection given above. The vehicle was reported to be a green pickup truck.

Ellis County EMS reported a vehicle overturned on its roof. An air medical helicopter was requested to the scene. 77 was closed while Air Evac 74 out of Waxahachie responded to the scene.

Air Evac 74 airlifted one person to Parkland. We have not heard any details on the severity of his injuries.

Traffic Alert (Eastland County) Westbound I20 at Ranger Hill

Multiple agencies are on scene of a stalled 18 wheeler that has partially parked off the right side of the roadway along westbound I20 at Ranger Hill.

Reports indicate the truck had engines problems going up the hill, pulled off to the side of the road, and is now in risk of overturning off the roadway.

Law enforcement and fire personnel are on the scene. All westbound lanes will be closed at some point in the next few hours to properly upright the truck. Westbound lanes are open at this time, but very congested as a result of this situation, and will only get worse when a full closure begins.

This incident occurs less than 24 hours after a fatal crash was reported on I20 west of Ranger Hill last night. Travel safe, please!

Major crash in Pantego with injuries, road closure

The Pantego and Arlington police departments are investigating a major accident in the 1800 block of S. Bowen Road. The crash occurred just before 12:30pm.

Pantego FD, Arlington FD, Arlington EMS, Pantego PD, and Arlington PD all responded to the scene. At least two vehicles were involved in the crash, reports of a third. One occupant required extrication.

Vehicles were spread out, one at the S. Bowen Road and Tucker Blvd intersection and another up the roadway at S. Bowen Road and Lakeview Circle.

At least two people were injured. Unknown severity of injuries.

As of 1:30pm, APD and PPD had all northbound and southbound lanes of Bowen Road closed to investigate the crash.

Smell of gas reported in several areas

Multiple cities and fire departments are responding to outside smells of natural gas. The area affected is from the Texas Motor Speedway all the way East/NE to Flower Mound and Highland Village. Other areas may be experiencing this gas smell as well. The smell extends over a very large area. Atmos and CoServ gas companies are in the field investigating as well. Information only. We will update if more info is obtained.

UPDATE: Atmos is working on pressure testing a gas line causing a smell within a 10 mile radius in Denton County. They are filling and then releasing gas from the line to test the pressures. Because of this there may be an ongoing odor of gas that comes and goes until they are finished with their testing.

Apartment Fire (Arlington)

Quint 8, Engine 8 are on scene with heavy fire and black smoke showing from the roof and breezeway of an apartment building in the 2600 block of Stockton Drive. A working fire has been declared. Evacuating residents from the building at this time. Requesting a 2 alarm.

Police Investigation (Dallas)

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a shooting incident at a residence in the 2600 block of Belknap Ave. between Sutter Street and Almeda Drive (Cedar Crest neighborhood).

Scanner traffic indicates a DPD officer was flagged down this morning around 11:45am and told by a resident that a shooting may have occurred at the location given above.

A crime scene has been established where two people were reportedly found deceased.

It’s best to avoid this area while police investigate the scene.

Police chase in Roanoke, north Fort Worth ends with two people in custody

Around 12:45pm this afternoon, we heard about a police chase involving Roanoke Police Department and another vehicle.

An additional agency was dispatched to assist Roanoke PD with a vehicle pursuit. The suspects in the vehicle attempted to cash stolen checks at the Chase Bank.

The pursuit begin in the area of Highway 114 in Roanoke, continued westbound to I35W, south on I35W to 170 / Alliance Gateway Freeway. The suspect exited onto Alliance Gateway and temporarily stopped at the Pilot gas station.

The pursuit began again with the suspect reportedly doing circles near the gas station. According to scanner traffic, it continued eastbound on 170 at speeds near 100mph and ended at 170 near Park Vista Blvd.

One male suspect was detained at gunpoint, and another suspect, a female, ran on foot from the stop location. She was quickly taken into custody.

Followers reported seeing the pursuit. It was a black vehicle smoking out the back.

Great job to Roanoke PD and other assisting agencies for taking these two suspects into custody.
