Plano firefighters are working to contain a house fire

Engine 12 is on scene with heavy smoke showing from a house in the 3900 block of Gettysburg Circle near Coit Road and Parker Road.

Firefighters are making fire attack and working to confirm everyone is out of the house.

Battalion 1, Battalion 2, Engine 2, Engine 4, Engine 5, Engine 8, Truck 2, Truck 3, Truck 5, and multiple other units are assigned.

Update – One person involved in this fire has been located and pronounced deceased on the scene.

Update – Fire placed under control.

UPDATE: 40-year-old identified as person struck, killed by vehicle in Rowlett

Early Friday morning at around 2:47am, Rowlett police officers along with Fire-Rescue personnel responded to an accident at the Dalrock Road bridge over Interstate 30 in which a pedestrian was hit by a motor vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. The adult male pedestrian, identified as a 40-year-old man from Rowlett, died at the scene.

The fatality accident remains under investigation by the Rowlett Police Traffic Division and no criminal charges have been filed.

UPDATE: One person dead after multi-vehicle crashes on I20 in south Arlington

As we first reported last night, multiple units from Arlington Fire Department, Arlington EMS, and Arlington police responded to the scene of a multiple vehicle crash along Interstate 20 at the Kelly Elliott Road exit.

“Officers arrived on scene and located a total of six vehicles which had stopped along the freeway and were believed to be involved in multiple crashes” says Arlington police officials.

Investigators believe that there were a total of three crashes. Two vehicles were involved in the first crash. One of the drivers was attempting to push his vehicle onto the shoulder when he and his vehicle was struck by a passing vehicle, resulting in the second crash. Immediately following this crash, a third crash occurred with multiple vehicles in which investigators believe were trying to avoid the previous crash scenes.

The driver from the first crash who was struck by the second crash was transported to Medical City of Arlington, but died as a result of his injuries.

Multiple lanes of eastbound I20 were closed for several hours while police investigated the scene.

UPDATE: Body found this morning at White Rock Lake identified as missing Grand Prairie man

As you may have seen on DFW Scanner or other news pages, the Grand Prairie Police Department had been searching for a missing couple, Alfonso Hernandez and Weltzin Garcia. They were reported missing on February 5th. Hernandez’s vehicle was located at White Rock Lake.

This morning just after 9am, Dallas Police Department and Fire-Rescue personnel were called to the scene of a body in the water at White Rock Lake. Units responded and recovered the body.

According to Grand Prairie police officials, the body has been identified as Alfonso Hernandez. His body was transported to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office for cause of death information.

The Dallas Police Department Dive Team, Texas Parks and Wildlife and Grand Prairie detectives continue to search for Weltzin Garcia and any additional evidence.

DWI driver crashes into Irving police officer

An Irving Police Department officer was injured early this morning after a driver suspected of DWI crashed into her vehicle.

The officer was blocking traffic for a crash scene when the secondary crash occurred near Loop 12 and Grauwler. Luckily, the officer only suffered minor injuries, but was taken to the hospital out of precaution.

The driver was arrested for DWI and is in Irving jail.

Fort Worth police investigating a shooting in the Ridgmar area

Multiple Fort Worth police officers are investigating a shooting near the 2200 block of Aden Road in the Ridgmar area of west Fort Worth.

Details are limited, but dispatched information indicates a female 9-1-1 caller stated someone was shot. There are no details on the suspect.

MedStar transported one person to the hospital. Another ambulance is staging in the area for the ongoing police investigation.

Fort Worth FD and MedStar are also on the scene. Avoid this area.

Heavy delays on I20 in Arlington due to multi-vehicle crash

Multiple Arlington Fire Department, Arlington EMS, and Arlington police officers are working a major accident involving multiple vehicles on eastbound I20 at the exit for Kelly Elliott Road.

Battalion 2, Truck 9, Engine 7, Truck 7, Engine 10, Engine 9, Arlington EMS medics 24 and 25 (along with a third), and multiple APD units are on scene. Three ambulances have been requested to the scene.

At least two vehicles involved with major damages. Several vehicles are stopped along the shoulder of the freeway as well. A secondary accident was reported, but it is unknown if one occurred.

Unknown injuries. Medic 24 transported at least one person code 3 (lights/siren) to Medical City Arlington.

Only the far left lane is open at this time.
