Driver dies in single-vehicle crash at 114 / 161 interchange in Irving

The Irving Police Department is investigating a major accident involving a fatality that occurred yesterday morning at the 114 and 161 interchange.

Irving Police and Fire/EMS responded to the scene in the westbound lanes of Highway 114 near the Highway 161 ramp.

Police say a driver failed to negotiated a curve on the ramp, drove partially onto the grass median and overcorrected to the right. The vehicle then slid across the ramp and into a bridge pillar.

The driver was transported to Baylor Grapevine hospital, but died.

The deceased has been identified as a 26-year-old female.

Lanes of I30 closed in Fort Worth due to overturned dump truck

Fort Worth FD, PD, and MedStar EMS are all on the scene of an overturned dump truck blocking all lanes of westbound I30 near Green Oaks Road in west Fort Worth.

Extrication is underway to free a trapped occupant in the truck. Battalion 5, Quint 16, Engine 16, Squad 2, and Support 2 are all assigned.

All lanes are blocked as a result of this crash. It is best to avoid this area.

Update – One lane now open. HazMat clean up is currently in progress. The driver has been freed, unknown severity of injuries.

UPDATE: One suspect arrested, one still on the loose after killing man at north Dallas RaceTrac

The Dallas Police Department responded to a shooting at the RaceTrac gas station, 8124 Forest Lane just east of Central Expressway, at 5:12PM yesterday evening.

When officers arrived, they located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. A 43-year-old male was shot and transported to the hospital, but died as a result of his injuries.

Investigators say two black males fled the scene and jumped on a DART train to escape. One of the suspects was arrested, but the second is still on the run.

Child seriously injured after being struck by vehicle in Johnson County

DPS troopers are investigating a major accident that injured a 12-year-old child this evening in Johnson County.

Emergency responders were called to the scene around 5:35PM on County Road 915 near Grande Vista Way northeast of Godley.

It is reported that a 12-year-old female child ran across the roadway and did not yield the right of way to a traveling vehicle. The vehicle struck the child.

She was transported by ambulance to Cook Children’s Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old, was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing.

Serious crash closes Davis Blvd in North Richland Hills

The North Richland Hills Police Department is investigating a major accident at the intersection of Davis Blvd and Harwood Road.

Multiple emergency responders were called to the scene this evening. The crash reportedly involved an overturned vehicle and another vehicle.

Fire officials say three people were extricated from the wreckage and transported to area hospitals. One of those sustained critical injuries.

Lanes of Davis Blvd were, and may still be, closed at the Harwood intersection due to this crash. It is best to avoid the area.

Man shot and killed at Bedford house

The Bedford Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred this morning around 8:00AM in the 1600 block of Donna Lane.

Police responded to the scene and located a male deceased from a gunshot wound. The victim has been identified as a 30-year-old male.

Officials say the original call was for a disturbance. A home owner stated he shot the man after be opened a window and entered the home.

Records show the deceased victim lived a few doors down from the scene on an adjacent street.

Detectives are still investigating the incident.

Two residents transported to hospital following house fire in Denton County

The Ponder Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire just after 3:00AM this morning in the 11000 block of Knight Lane (Denton County). Upon arrival, firefighters located the single story house heavily involved with fire.

Officials say two residents were transported to area hospitals.

Krum FD, Justin FD, Flower Mound FD, and county law enforcement all responded to the scene.

Investigators are working to determine a cause of the fire.

Worker airlifted by CareFlite after injury at Keller Home Depot

The Keller Police and Fire/EMS departments responded to an injured person earlier this morning at the Home Depot, 2013 Highway 377 (Denton Highway).

Police say a worker was injured on the store’s roof. Emergency personnel responded to the scene around 8:42AM for a worker who had been electrocuted on the store’s roof. Keller Fire Rescue utilized a stokes basket to lower the patient down from the roof.

CareFlite was called to the scene and landed near the store. They are airlifting the worker to Parkland Hospital in Dallas. He was conscious at the scene, according to police.

UPDATE: One dead, one flown from single vehicle crash in Hill County

Law enforcement in Hill County is investigating a major accident with fatality that occurred earlier this afternoon near the intersection of FM 67 and Highway 81 outside of Itasca.

Emergency personnel from Itasca FD, Grandview FD, CareFlite ground EMS, Hill County Sheriffs Office, and DPS all responded to the scene around 4PM.

Initial reports indicate the driver swerved to avoid an animal in the road. This caused the vehicle to overturn off the roadway.

The driver, who was reported to be a pregnant female, was flown from the crash scene to JPS by Air Evac 51 out of precaution. A passenger in the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Lanes of the highway were closed to allow for the helicopter to land. The scene has since been cleared.

Man arrested for shooting two people, one fatally, at Oak Cliff house

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred Sunday afternoon in the 2400 block of Scotland Drive.

Officers responded to the Oak Cliff residence at 4:43PM with regards to a shooting. When emergency personnel arrived, they located two people with gunshot wounds. Both were transported to the hospital. One died and the other is in stable condition.

The suspect turned himself into Lancaster Police.

Investigators say the suspect was a former resident at the house, but he was recently kicked out. The suspect’s sister is married to the man who was shot and survived. The deceased victim is the surviving victim’s brother.

The deceased victim has been identified as a 35-year-old male.
