Robbery suspects shoot, injure man in Haltom City

The Haltom City Police Department responded to a shooting last night (Monday) at 9:45PM in the 4000 block of Haltom Road.

Officers interviewed a victim who stated two men got out of a vehicle and approached him. They demanded his property, which included money and a phone. After the man did not give the items to them, one of the suspects shot him in the leg.

The man was transported to JPS with a non-life-threatening injury.

Police were unable to capture the suspects involved in this case. Officials say both men were Hispanic wearing dark colored hoodies and blue jeans. The suspect vehicle is described as a 2000’s model silver Toyota Corolla or similar Hyundai.

Five students in police custody after fight with police, school admin at Rosemont MS

The Fort Worth Police Department responded to a large fight at Rosemont Middle School, 1501 W. Seminary Drive, this morning at 9:15AM.

Dispatched information indicated multiple students were fighting with a security guard and school administrators.

“A police officer attempted to intervene and a scuffle ensued. Additional staff assisted the police officer and a campus security guard.”

The fight was broken up. Five students are in police custody.

The school is now back to normal status.

Woman fatally injured after crash involving drunk driver on Dallas expressway

The Dallas Police Department says a woman was fatally injured this morning after her vehicle was struck by a drunk driver.

Police say a 57-year-old woman was traveling northbound on North Central Expressway when she noticed a previously wrecked vehicle along the exit ramp to Coit Road. As she slowed, a 28-year-old driver failed to control his speed and rear-ended the woman’s vehicle.

The rear-end collision caused her vehicle to veer onto the main lanes of the Central Expressway. Both the female driver and the drunk driver exited their vehicles to exchange information.

It was at this time that a northbound vehicle unrelated to the rear-end collision struck the woman’s vehicle. She was fatally injured while standing directly outside of the driver’s side door.

The 57-year-old woman died at the scene. The drunk driver remained at the scene and was subsequently arrested for DWI. The third driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Teenager arrested for stabbing Lewisville woman as she took out the trash

The Lewisville Police Department has arrested an 18-year-old male and charged him with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon after he stabbed a Lewisville woman taking out the trash.

According to a social media message sent to DFW Scanner by her son, the woman, who lives on Winston Drive in Lewisville, was taking out the trash last night (Monday) when she was approached by the suspect. He asked her if she had seen his little girl. After she said no, he reached out and stabbed her, and then fled on foot.

The woman was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. As of Tuesday evening, she remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Lewisville PD says they have located the suspect and arrested him. He has been identified as an 18-year-old man. He faces a felony charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

The motive for the stabbing has yet to be released.

UPDATE: Man dies following motorcycle crash in Parker County

The TX Department of Public Safety is investigating a major accident involving a motorcycle that occurred this afternoon in the 5100 block of FM 920 outside of Peaster.

Multiple emergency responders were called to the scene, which reportedly involved a motorcycle and a pickup truck. Lifecare EMS requested the launch of a CareFlite medical helicopter to the scene.

Lanes of FM 920 were closed near the FM 1885 intersection for the helicopter landing zone and accident investigation.

The rider was airlifted to Harris Methodist Fort Worth, but was pronounced deceased in the hospital’s Emergency Room. He has been identified as a 73-year-old man who lived not far from the crash scene.

Additional details regarding the crash have not yet been released.

Woman dies after being struck by vehicle near west Fort Worth bus stop

Emergency responders from the Fort Worth Fire Department, Police Department, and MedStar EMS responded to a major accident involving a vehicle that hit a pedestrian on Thursday, February 13th.

Police say a woman was walking toward a stopped bus from her apartment in the 9100 block of Normandale Street when she fell down. It was at this time that a vehicle struck her while turning into the apartment complex.

The driver stated he did not see the woman after making the turn.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, but pronounced deceased yesterday evening. She has been identified as a 60-year-old woman.

It has not yet been released if the driver will be charged.

Three teenagers die in fiery overnight crash in Plano

The Plano Police Department is investigating a major accident involving a single vehicle that occurred overnight on Hedgecoxe Road.

Plano Fire and Police emergency responders were called to the scene along Hedgecoxe Road near Independence Parkway at 3:42AM. One vehicle had impacted a tree and split into pieces. The vehicle then caught fire.

Police have identified three occupants in the vehicle. All were pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver was an 18-year-old. A 16-year-old was in the front passenger’s seat and an 18-year-old was in the rear passenger seat.

The investigation is still in progress, but speed does appear to be a contributing factor.

All three teenagers were from Plano.

Intoxicated driver hits, kills pedestrian in Uptown Dallas

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a major accident involving a fatality that occurred this evening near the 2500 block of Cedar Springs Road at Routh Street.

DPD and DFR responded to the scene just before 5:00PM this evening. Police confirm a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian, a woman, has been pronounced deceased.

Officials say the driver fled the scene, but was soon apprehended. The driver is facing intoxication manslaughter charges.

Driver killed after racing vehicle hits his car in Pleasant Grove

The Dallas Fire Rescue and Police Department responded to a major accident involving a vehicle on fire early this morning in the 500 block of S. Masters Drive in the Pleasant Grove area.

According to officials, two vehicles were racing each other at high speeds along southbound Masters Drive. A vehicle was eastbound on Cushing Drive at the stop sign attempting to cross Masters Drive. As the vehicle entered the roadway, one of the racing vehicles struck the crossing vehicle. The driver of the crossing vehicle was ejected from the car before it caught fire. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the racing vehicle was transported from the scene with serious injuries. He has been identified as a 23-year-old male.

The second racing vehicle remained at the scene. Both drivers will be charged with racing causing death.

The innocent driver who died has been identified as a 45-year-old male.

Motorcyclist crashes into highway courtesy vehicle on NW Loop 820

Multiple law enforcement are investigating a major accident involving a motorcycle and a highway courtesy vehicle along westbound NW Loop 820 near Azle Ave.

Reports indicate a motorcycle crashed into the back of the courtesy Tarrant County pickup truck.

The rider was transported to JPS hospital with major injuries. This is now reported as a possible fatality.

Only the shoulder gets by near the crash scene. It is best to avoid this area.
