Suspects open fire into vehicle along I-30 in west Fort Worth; one person killed, one injured

The Fort Worth Police Department and Tarrant County Sheriffs deputies all responded to a shooting early this morning in the area of West Freeway (Interstate 30) near Linkcrest Drive.

At 4:55AM, officers received word of a homicide in the 3800 block of Linklea Drive.

Upon arrival, Fort Worth officers determined the shooting occurred at West Freeway (Interstate 30) service road near Linkcrest Drive.

A man and his girlfriend were traveling in a vehicle returning to their home when another vehicle pulled beside them. Suspects in the vehicle opened fire into the victim’s vehicle. The man was killed. His girlfriend was transported to the hospital with injuries from broken glass. She is in stable condition.

There are no suspects in custody at this time.

One of our followers stated she heard two gunshots and a woman yelling for help at around this time.

Police are investigating the incident.
