Motorcyclist killed in south Fort Worth crash

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatality accident involving a vehicle and a motorcycle that occurred yesterday afternoon.

Multiple emergency responders were called to the scene at the intersection of Altamesa Blvd and Brookhaven Trail in south Fort Worth.

According to traffic investigators, a vehicle traveling westbound on Altamesa Blvd turned left to go south on Brookhaven Trail when a collision occurred between the vehicle and a motorcyclist traveling eastbound on Altamesa. The vehicle entered in the intersection when it was “unsafe” to do so, police say.

The motorcyclist lost control, causing him to go off the roadway and hit a bush. He was ejected from the motorcycle.

MedStar EMS transported the motorcyclist to JPS, but he was pronounced deceased in the ER. He has since been identified as a 33-year-old man from Fort Worth.

Police say the vehicle fled the scene without stopping. The driver’s whereabouts are unknown at this time.
