3 dead after wrong-way crash on Dallas North Tollway
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a major accident involving multiple fatalities that occurred overnight in north Dallas.
At around 3:00AM, DPS troopers and Dallas Fire-Rescue were dispatched to a crash in the northbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway near IH-635 (LBJ).
Officials say a wrong-way driver traveling southbound entered the northbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway at Belt Line and traveled for approximately a minute before the crash.
Both vehicles caught fire after the collision.
Two occupants in the wrong-way vehicle died at the scene. One occupant (driver) of the northbound vehicle also died at the scene.
The northbound lanes of DNT were closed while troopers investigated the crash.
