Dallas police, robbery suspects exchange gunfire during pursuit

The Dallas Police Department received a 9-1-1 call around 12:30AM that multiple male suspects had just robbed an individual of his possessions and stole his vehicle in the 4100 block of Delafield Lane. Immediately after the robbery, the victim confronts the suspects, where shots were fired.

A second 9-1-1 call of an “active shooter” was received after the shots were fired during the altercation involving the victim and suspects. Multiple officers responded to both scenes.

The armed suspects fled in a vehicle that was pursued by Dallas police officers. During the pursuit, the suspects shot at the officers, striking one of the squad cars.

One of the Dallas PD officers returned fire.

The suspects fled to an apartment complex in the 8300 block of Hoyle Ave where they dumped the vehicle and ran. Officers were unable to locate the suspects, but the vehicle was recovered.

Luckily, no officers were injured in this shooting. It is unknown if the suspect(s) were hit with gunfire.

The incident remains under investigation.
