Beloved Crowley FD lieutenant died in motorcycle crash on Friday
Members of the Crowley Fire Department are grieving the loss of a beloved fire lieutenant who died on Friday morning in a motorcycle accident outside of Granbury.
Reports indicate Lt. Robert Fozkos and a family member were riding a motorcycle on Cleburne Highway (FM 4) just east of Granbury when their motorcycle collided with a vehicle making a turn onto Godley Road. DPS says the driver of the vehicle was at fault, and failed to yield to the motorcycle’s right of way.
Lt. Fozkos was pronounced deceased on the scene. The family member was airlifted to a local hospital with major injuries. At this time, the family member is still hospitalized.
“The city of Crowley and the Crowley Fire Department are saddened by the sudden passing of Crowley Fire Lieutenant Robert G. Fozkos,” read a statement on the Crowley FD Facebook page. The post indicates Lt. Fozkos had been with the department for 8 years.
Lt. Fozkos lived in Granbury.
There will be a public viewing and private funeral on July 5th.
We extend our thoughts and prayers to Lt. Fozkos’ family during this difficult time, and pray that his family member recovers fully from her injuries.
