I-20 closed in Parker County after serious overnight crash
Multiple fire and police personnel are still working to clear up the scene of a major accident involving multiple vehicles that occurred overnight in Parker County.
Units were called to the scene around 1:30AM regarding a crash involving an 18-wheeler and person trapped. It was later determined that two 18-wheelers were involved and at least one burned.
A statement from law enforcement indicates an 18 wheeler was traveling in the left lane and started to veer off the roadway. The driver overcorrected and struck another 18-wheeler in the right lane.
The first 18-wheeler caught fire and trapped the driver. Unfortunately he was pronounced deceased in the crash.
A large debris field was reported across all lanes of the highway.
All eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 remain closed at FM 1189 in the Brock area.
Parker County ESD 9, ESD 6, Parker County SO, DPS, and Lifecare EMS all responded.
It is best to avoid this area.
