Woman killed, three others injured after multi-vehicle crash in Haltom City
The Haltom City Police Department has released an update regarding the fatality accident that occurred along eastbound N Loop 820 earlier this morning.
Police say a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on 820 when the driver attempted to grab his water bottle, but lost control of the truck. The pickup veered to the left and hit the median, eventually colliding into a stranded vehicle on the left side of the highway.
This caused the pickup truck to go airborne and land on top of a second vehicle parked in front of the stranded one.
A woman sitting inside the second vehicle was killed in the crash. Two men, who were outside the vehicles changing a flat tire, were both seriously hurt and transported to local trauma centers.
The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with non-serious injuries.
Lanes of eastbound N Loop 820 were closed for several hours while investigators documented the scene.
It is unknown if the driver of the pickup truck will face any charges. The investigation is ongoing.
