Two firefighters injured while battling Fort Worth house fire

The Fort Worth Fire Department was called to an early morning house fire in the 2800 block of Milam Street around 5:15AM this morning.

First-arriving crews observed heavy fire coming from the one story house. Firefighters began to make an aggressive fire attack on the building.

One firefighter was burned while attacking the fire. He was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

Another firefighter was injured after part of the roof collapsed into the house, trapping him. A May Day was called, indicating a trapped or injured firefighter in the building. Fellow firefighters rushed in and pulled him to safety. He was evaluated for minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
