Dallas police officer arrested in the kidnapping, killing of two people

The Dallas Police Department has arrested one of their own officers and charged him with Capital Murder in the kidnapping and killings of two people back in 2017.

Officer Bryan Riser, who has been on the force since 2008, was arrested for his role in the two killings. An arrest affidavit indicates Riser directed an individual to kidnap and murder two people: a 31-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man. The motive for the killings is not clear, although one of the victims was reportedly an informant.

Both victims were shot and dumped into the Trinity River in the Cedars area. The woman’s body was recovered, but the man’s was never found.

Bryan Riser has been booked into jail on two counts of Capital Murder. The investigation is ongoing.
