18-year-old fleeing from police in stolen vehicle causes crash, kills innocent driver in Dallas

At around 2:00am early this morning, Grand Prairie police officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle in the area of Pioneer Parkway and Belt Line Road. The driver took off, leading police on a high speed pursuit into the city of Dallas.

As the fleeing driver approached the intersection of N. Peak Street and Ross Avenue in Old East Dallas, he ran a red light and collided with another driver. Unfortunately, the innocent driver was pronounced deceased on the scene by Dallas Fire Rescue paramedics.

The driver of the stolen pickup truck, identified as an 18-year-old man, and a juvenile passenger were not seriously injured. They were both arrested. The driver has pending charges of Murder, Unlawful Use of Motor Vehicle, and Evading Arrest.

The Dallas Police Department is leading the crash investigation.
