15-year-old driver killed in high speed crash in Joshua

The Joshua Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that claimed the life of a 15-year-old juvenile.

On Sunday evening at around 6:30pm, Joshua Police and Fire along with AMR responded to the scene along County Road 909 near Ranchette Drive.

A 15-year-old driver traveling at high speeds lost control of the vehicle, left the road, and hit a tree. The impact caused severe damage to the vehicle. The juvenile driver was trapped inside the wreckage. Joshua firefighters extricated him and assisted AMR with patient care. He was airlifted to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth, where he later died.

A second occupant inside the car was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The 15-year-old juvenile was a resident of Joshua. He lived not far from the accident site.

The accident remains under investigation by the Joshua Police Department.
