Fort Worth man drowns at Eagle Mountain Lake

The Tarrant Regional Water District Police Department is investigating an “unattended death” that occurred at Eagle Mountain Lake on Sunday afternoon.

At around 2:40pm yesterday, multiple emergency responders were alerted to a possible person floating in the water along the Eagle Mountain Lake shoreline near the 10000 block of Boat Club Road.

TRWD officers recovered the individual from the water, and performed life saving efforts on the man. Eagle Mountain firefighters and MedStar paramedics continued CPR while they transported him to a local hospital, but he was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as a 69-year-old man from Fort Worth.

Officers later found the man’s watercraft in the area. An initial observation did not indicate a cause of the incident, police say. It is unknown if the man was wearing a life jacket.
