Man shot and killed by wife’s brother after firing shotgun into White Settlement apartment

The White Settlement Police Department is investigating a domestic disturbance and shooting that occurred today at an apartment complex in the 8100 block of Foxfire Lane.

Police say a married couple were involved in an argument when the wife and their three children left their upstairs apartment and went downstairs to stay with other family members. The husband, armed with a shotgun, went downstairs and fired a round into the front door of the apartment unit where his family members were staying.

The brother of the man’s wife, who was inside the downstairs apartment when the husband shot through the door, retrieved an AR style assault rifle and fired several shots through the front door towards the man, striking him multiple times.

The husband was transported to a local hospital, but pronounced deceased.

The wife, her brother, and all witnesses are cooperating with police. The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is assisting with the investigation. Once the investigation has concluded, the case will be submitted to the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office for their review.
