Woman armed with shotgun killed, man injured after shooting involving Allen police

The Allen Police Department is investigating a series of events that led to a woman being killed and a man seriously injured.
Just before 2:30pm today, Allen police officers were dispatched to a disturbance along the Central Expressway. It is unclear if the disturbance was related to road rage.
When officers arrived in the area, they did not locate the vehicles, but began searching nearby parking lots and observed the vehicles near Wendy’s at 601 W. McDermott Drive.
A woman holding a shotgun to hear side was spotted by responding officers. As officers approached her, she ran off, resulting in one of the officers firing at least one shot at the woman. She later collapsed. Paramedics transported her to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
Additional officers found a man shot and seriously hurt laying between two vehicles. He was quickly transported to a local hospital and rushed into surgery. His condition has not been released as of 7:30pm Monday night.
“The Allen Police Department has asked The Texas Rangers to assist with this investigation, due to an officer firing his weapon. We ask for the community’s cooperation and patience while this investigation takes place.”
Anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information regarding it to contact the Allen Police Department at 214-509-4200.
