Young man shot, killed in south Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Saturday night not far from Hulen Mall.

At 10:25pm last night, Fort Worth police officers were called to the OK Food Mart at 6281 Hulen Bend Blvd after 9-1-1 calls came in of a shooting. Officers arrived to find one man shot multiple times.

MedStar paramedics transported him to Texas Health Harris hospital where he was pronounced deceased. He has been identified as a 22-year-old man from Fort Worth.

Homicide detectives are still investigating what led up to the shooting.

Motorcyclist killed in crash on Chisholm Trail Parkway in Fort Worth

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a fatality accident that occurred along the Chisholm Trail Parkway just south of the Interstate 30 interchange.

At around 12:45am, a motorcyclist traveling along the roadway became disabled and pulled onto the shoulder to make some repairs to the bike. After the modifications were finished, the rider attempted to get back onto the roadway, but pulled out in front of a passenger vehicle and was struck.

MedStar paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the motorcyclist deceased on the scene. She has been identified as a 31-year-old woman from Arlington. The driver of the car was not injured.

Texas DPS troopers continue to investigate this crash.

Multiple people shot overnight in West 7th area of Fort Worth

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating an incident involving multiple shooting victims that occurred overnight in the West 7th area.

At around 2:11am, Fort Worth officers working in the area were notified of several people shot near the intersection of Bledsoe Street and Norwood Street. Officers located a crime scene and multiple shooting victims in the general area.

MedStar EMS transported the victims to local hospitals. Authorities have not released an official count as to how many were injured and how bad.

Suspect(s) is not in custody at this time.

Fort Worth police are investigating the incident.

Amber Alert suspect killed, child injured after crash during police chase in Hill County

Several law enforcement agencies are investigating a fatality accident involving a child abduction suspect at the center of a central Texas Amber Alert.

Early this morning, an Amber Alert was issued for 8-year-old Jessi Marie Lowrey who was abducted from the Walnut Springs, Texas area. The suspect was identified as 34-year-old Randall Thurman, a family member, last seen in a silver Chrysler 200 sedan. Thurman was reported to be a sex offender, according to police.

At around 9:00am this morning, a person spotted the vehicle in Hill County and notified law enforcement authorities. Police were able to track down the suspect, who took off when officers tried to stop him near the area of Highway 171 and County Road 4123. Officers confirmed it was the suspect through the vehicle’s license plate.

After about a 10 minute pursuit, the suspect crashed at Highway 171 and County Road 302 just inside the Johnson County line. Reports indicate a sheriff’s deputy was involved in the collision.

A CareFlite helicopter was called to the crash scene and airlifted the girl to Cook Children’s hospital. Police did say she was alive when transported. Her condition has not been released.

The suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office. A civilian involved in the crash was also killed.

“Preliminary investigation indicates this crash is tied to an investigation being conducted by the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office,” said DPS in a statement. “No additional information is available at this time.”

***PRESS RELEASE/CHILD ABDUCTION/CHILDREN RECOVERED***On 09/24/21 at approximately 10:45pm, BCSO deputies responded to a residence in Walnut Springs in regards to a report of 2 missing children. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the mother who stated that her 2 children, Cody Lowery (m) and Jessi Lowery (f), ages 7 and 8, were missing and suspected to be with family member, Randall Thurman. As deputies gathered information for the investigation, it was determined that Thurman was a registered sex offender. The investigation was immediately amplified, with additional officers and investigators called out to assist. BCSO communications immediately sent out a BOLO notification to all surrounding counties and Central Texas. Houston PD was also contacted as Thurman maintained a residence in Houston. At approximately 1:40AM, BCSO was notified that 7 year old Cody had been located at a convenience store on I35 in Hill County and was in the custody of Hill County Deputies and Itasca PD. Officers on scene reported that the young boy had run to the convenience store seeking help and had been bound with clear packing tape, wrapped around his throat and arms. Cody advised responding deputies that “Randall” had removed him from the car and wrapped him in tape before fleeing with Jessi still in his possession. Upon taking custody of Cody, Hill County SO deputies immediately summoned paramedics to treat Cody for injuries. Cody was tranported by ambulance to a medical facility for treatment. BCSO deputies responded to the location where extensive search efforts were initiated by all involved agencies.Upon gathering the information necessary, BCSO investigators entered Jessi Lowery into the Amber Alert system expanding the search statewide. As the investigation and search continued, BCSO requested and received assistance and resources from Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers and Texas Rangers. McLennan County SO and the Federal Bureau of Investigations were also requested and joined in the investigation.At approximately 9:15AM, a Hill county resident observed the car sitting between a group of trees on his property and recognized it to the the car listed in the Amber Alert. He immediately contacted Hill County SO at which time multiple HCSO and BCSO units began to saturate the area in an effort to locate the vehicle. HCSO deputies observed the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle. The suspect fled and a pursuit ensued, traveling northbound on FM 171 toward Cleburne.Just inside Johnson County, pursuing deputies observed the suspect vehicle cross over the center lane of the roadway and continue to travel at high speeds toward an oncoming vehicle. Based on the actions of the driver, deputies believe the maneuver to have been intentional. At the intersection of FM 191 and Johnson County Road 302, the suspect vehicle collided with the oncoming car. Following the collision, officers converged on the vehicles to determine the condition of the occupants in both vehicles. EMS and rescue teams were requested at the scene. As a result of the collision, the driver of the 2nd vehicle suffered fatal injuries upon impact. The name of this crash victim will be withheld pending the completed notification of family. Also fatally injured in the crash was suspect, Randall Thurman.8 year old, abduction victim Jessi Lowery, was found in the front passenger seat of the vehicle operated by Thurman. Jessi was conscious and communicated with officers on the scene. Following the extraction of Jessi from the vehicle, she was placed on a CareFlight helicopter and transported to a medical facility for emergency treatment.The Texas Rangers, Texas DPS crash reconstruction troopers and Johnson County SO conducted the investigation of the crash scene. Agencies that conducted and assisted in this investigation include;Bosque County SO, McLennan County SO, Hill County SO, Sommerville County SO, Waco PD, Itasca PD, Fort Worth PD, Texas DPS Troopers, Texas Rangers, Federal Bureau of Investigations.Additional / multiple Law Enforcement agencies across the state assisted in the search as well as investigating leads that became available during the investigation. Three bodies found in burning dumpster at Fort Worth business

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a homicide after the bodies of three individuals were found in a burning dumpster.

On Wednesday, Fort Worth firefighters were called to a dumpster fire at a business in the 3100 block of Bonnie Drive.

After firefighters had put the fire out, they discovered three burned and badly mangled bodies inside the dumpster. Police officers were called to investigate.

The bodies appeared to be that of an unknown child, a young teenage or adult female, and an adult male, police say.

“Identifying the perpetrators and suspects of this triple murder is the primary goal of this investigation.”

Irving man confesses to killing child for “wiping feces on him”

The Irving Police Department is investigating the heinous murder of a 2-year-old little boy this week by a man who reportedly did so because the child wiped feces on him.

At around 9:30am on Tuesday morning, Irving police officers responded to an apartment in the 300 block of Brown Drive and found the child deceased. A preliminary investigation of the residence indicated the death was not an accident.

The suspect, 23-year-old Arturo Santiago Pena-Almanza Jr., was arrested the following day for Abandoning or Endangering a Child.

When officers were speaking to him, the suspect admitted to murdering the body by hitting him several times after the child wiped feces on him.

Upon hearing his confession, detectives upgraded his charge to Capital Murder of a Person under 10 years of age. He is currently in the Dallas County jail.

Motorcyclist killed in crash near Joe Pool Lake

The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred Wednesday evening along Lake Ridge Parkway near Joe Pool Lake.

Grand Prairie Fire/EMS and Police responded to the scene around 5:45pm last night at the Lake Ridge Parkway bridge over the lake. This was not far from the England Parkway intersection.

Traffic investigators believe a motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Lake Ridge Parkway when he lost control and hit a guardrail. Paramedics transported him to Medical City Arlington trauma center, but he was pronounced deceased.

The motorcyclist has been identified as a 61-year-old man from Midlothian.

Lanes of the roadway were closed while police investigated the scene. The crash remains under investigation.

Driver killed in fiery Burleson crash

The Burleson Police Department is currently investigating a fatality accident that occurred earlier this morning along southbound I35W at Hidden Creek Parkway.

The crash occurred around 8:55am after a vehicle left the roadway and hit a bridge pillar at the Hidden Creek Parkway bridge. The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire.

Burleson FD, PD, and MedStar EMS all responded to the scene. Paramedics reported one person was deceased on the scene.

Southbound lanes of the roadway are closed in the area while police conduct their investigation. Expect heavy delays.

Additional details regarding the crash will be published as soon as they are released by officials.

Child airlifted to hospital from crash in Bedford

The Bedford Police Department is investigating a serious crash that occurred this evening along southbound Highway 121 near the Murphy Drive exit in Bedford.

At around 5:22pm this evening, Bedford Fire/EMS and Police were dispatched to the scene for a two-vehicle crash.

Emergency responders found a 10-year-old passenger with serious injuries and requested a CareFlite helicopter respond to the scene for air transport. The child was airlifted to Cook Children’s with serious injuries. Their condition has not been released.

A driver was also transported to a local hospital via ambulance in unknown condition.

All southbound lanes of 121 were closed while CareFlite landed at the scene. The highway has since been reopened.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Woman struck and killed by vehicle outside Dallas Love Field airport

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight just outside the Dallas Love Field airport.

At approximately 1:30a, Dallas Police and Fire-Rescue responded to the scene on Herb Kelleher Way north of Mockingbird Lane.

Officers determined that a vehicle was traveling on Herb Kelleher Way towards Mockingbird Lane when the driver struck and killed a woman in the roadway.

Paramedics pronounced the woman deceased at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
