Homeowner shoots, kills man banging on front door, Saginaw police say
The Saginaw Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning at a house in the 600 block of Babbling Brook Drive.
Just before 4:00am, Saginaw officers responded to a shots fired call at the home. The found a man laying face down on the porch with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators spoke with the homeowner who was awaken by the man beating on the front door of the home. The homeowner did not recognize the man, and told him to leave. The man walked away, but turned around and “rushed” the front door, according to police. That’s when the homeowner fired multiple shots.
The investigation is ongoing at this time. Police are investigating whether any charges are necessary.
This is the second fatal shooting within the last week in Saginaw. The first occurred last Tuesday at a home in the 600 block of Oak Hollow Trail when a homeowner shot and killed a young man who was reportedly attempting to break into the house. Details here.
