Speeding car thief charged with murder after killing motorist in Carrollton crash

The Carrollton Police Department has arrested a 29-year-old man and charged him with murder after causing a fatal car crash earlier this week.

Police say the man was speeding in a stolen Lexus when he ran a red light and broadsided a driver at the intersection of Keller Springs Road and Willowgate Lane in Carrollton. He had just stolen the car 30 minutes prior from a gas station near Dallas Love Field.

One driver was killed and two others inside the vehicle were seriously injured. One of them remains in critical condition.

The suspect was arrested today after being treated at a hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. He remains in a Carrollton jail where he faces a Murder charge for committing an act clearly dangerous to human life during the commission of a felony. His bond has not yet been set.
