Murder suspect arrested after crashing his car while taking meth, Dallas police say

The Dallas Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred at a northeast Dallas motel on Friday.

On Friday, February 11th, Dallas police were notified of a woman with gunshot wounds at an area hospital. The 41-year-old woman was pronounced deceased from her injuries.

Officers determined a man shot the woman at a motel in the 11300 block of LBJ Freeway near Jupiter Road. After the shooting, he drove her to a local hospital, dropped her at the door, and sped off.

Approximately two hours later, Dallas police officers caught up with the suspect after he crashed his vehicle while attempting to overdose on methamphetamines. He was transported to the hospital for treatment, but later transferred to the jail for questioning. Authorities will be charging him with murder.

The circumstances surrounding the motive for this murder are still under investigation.
