Dallas mother arrested after 3-year-old gets shot in family car

The Dallas Police Department has released additional information regarding the death of a 3-year-old Dallas boy.
On Monday morning, a mother arrived at Medical City Children’s Hospital ER with her injured 3-year-old boy. She reported the child had been shot during a road rage incident. Unfortunately, the child succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Dallas Police were called to the scene for an investigation into the incident. The mother claimed to have been involved in a road rage incident with a dark-colored 4-door sedan being driven by a black male in a red shirt. She alleged the ordeal occurred in the area of Arbor Park Drive and Whitehurst Drive. Detectives have pursued leads, but have found no evidence of a road rage incident.
Police determined the woman and her child were at a donut store around 9:38am at 9410 Walnut Street. Police believe the incident occurred when they left the donut store since they arrived at the hospital around 9:58am.
On Wednesday, Dallas PD arrested the 26-year-old mother on existing warrants. She has also been charged with Endangering a Child, due to the revelation that a weapon was inside the car and accessible to the child. Police also charged her with Tampering with Evidence. An investigation determined she concealed a handgun during the investigation.
