Man drowns at Lake Ray Hubbard

At 9:53pm on Sunday evening, multiple agencies responded to a water rescue situation on Lake Ray Hubbard. Departments from both Dallas and Rockwall counties responded to the scene.

Dallas Fire Rescue utilized their water rescue boat to locate a group of boaters in distress. They learned two men had jumped into the water, both without life jackets, possibly to investigate why their boat had stalled. One of the men’s bodies surfaced and the second was pulled from the water by bystanders. Rockwall County EMS transported the injured man to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Two women and a dog were rescued from the boat by Dallas Fire Rescue. They were transported safely to shore.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the deceased and will determine cause of death.

We have not heard the condition of the second individual involved in this incident.

As the weather warms up and area lakes / swimming pools become popular places, please wear a life jacket and keep your eyes on the kids at all times.
