Woman shot, killed at Richardson Starbucks
The Richardson Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred earlier this evening at the Starbucks, 4151 E. Renner Road.
At 7:12pm, Richardson police officers responded to a disturbance involving a weapon at the store. A 23-year-old woman was observed firing a handgun at a 52-year-old woman. Witnesses say both women were involved in a dispute which led to the shooting.
Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital, but she was pronounced deceased. Responding officers were able to arrest the suspect at the scene.
Detectives have learned that the suspect and victim knew each other. Officials have not stated why they were fighting.
No one else was injured.
Expect heavy police activity at the Starbucks while police investigate the scene.
