NEW: Driver killed, one critically injured in Tarrant County crash
The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality accident that occurred this afternoon along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 just east of the Tarrant County / Parker County line.
At 12:54pm, multiple agencies from Tarrant County responded to a major accident on eastbound I-20 just before the SW Loop 820 interchange near Benbrook. A total of four vehicles had been involved in a collision.
Paramedics pronounced one driver deceased at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was transported by CareFlite air ambulance to JPS with critical injuries.
The identity of the driver has not yet been released.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.
Lanes of eastbound I-20 were closed for a few hours while Tarrant County deputies worked the scene.
