Police investigating shooting death of 9-year-old boy near Granbury
The Hood County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting death of a 9-year-old boy near Granbury.
At 1:45pm on Tuesday, DeCordova Bend Estates / Acton VFD, Texas EMS, and multiple law enforcement were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Abbey Park Court for a gunshot wound victim.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they determined a child had been shot. CareFlite transported the boy to Cook Children’s hospital; however, he was pronounced deceased at 3:33pm.
According to a public Facebook post, the boy’s mother is a paramedic with Texas EMS. A fund has been established at First National Bank to help the family during this loss.
Investigators have not released any additional circumstances surrounding the incident. The incident remains under investigation by the Hood County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers law enforcement agencies.
