Man found dead at Grand Prairie crash was shot, officials say

The Grand Prairie Police Department is now investigating a homicide after a vehicle crash over the weekend.

Back on Sunday evening, Grand Prairie Police and Fire/EMS responded to the scene along Interstate 30 near Belt Line Road.

Police say a passenger vehicle was traveling eastbound on the highway when it collided with a disabled pickup truck in the main lanes of the highway. The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced deceased at the scene. He has been identified as a 38-year-old male from Fort Worth.

The Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the driver of the disabled pickup truck died from a gunshot wound prior to the collision involving the passenger vehicle.

Grand Prairie detectives are asking if anyone was traveling on IH-30 eastbound near Belt Line Road on Sunday, August 14th at around 9:15 p.m., and observed occupant(s) of a 2007 black Dodge Ram (similar photo below) interacting with another vehicle on the highway, please contact the Grand Prairie Police Department.
