Man arrested for shooting, killing Venezuelan woman during road rage in Carrollton
The Carrollton Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred over the weekend.
At 12:15am on Saturday morning, Carrollton police responded to the area of Marsh Lane and Country Square Drive for a person shot in a vehicle. Carrollton officers and paramedics provided medical care to a 21-year-old woman, but her injuries were too severe. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators say the alleged shooter, identified as a 25-year-old man, fired shots into the woman’s vehicle during a road rage situation on Marsh Lane. She was a backseat passenger in the vehicle.
While responding to the shooting, officers located the suspect’s vehicle nearby. He was arrested shortly thereafter and is now in Dallas County jail.
The incident remains under investigation.
