Homeless man dies in fire at vacant Dallas building

The Dallas Fire Rescue is investigating a fatality fire that occurred this afternoon at 2312 Al Lipscomb Way near I-45.
At 3:57pm, Dallas firefighters responded to reports of a fire at the three-story building, formerly an art gallery and office area. They found heavy fire showing from the building.
As firefighters were extinguishing the flames, they encountered an injured homeless man. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The fire was declared under control around 5:00pm.
Investigators know the fire originated in a room, on the second floor, in the back of the building, but the exact cause is under investigation. Pending the Medical Examiner’s final ruling on the victim’s cause of death, the cause of this fire will be listed as undetermined.
